Simple answer: If you don't know then it is tough--if you know how to do then it is easy.! this apllies to everything in the world (not limited to SAP only)....Also if you face tough issues then only you will learn the subject and can become expert...so be an EXPERT!
Performing an upgrade is quite tedious.
SAP is learning by doing. Nothing is tough. When you practice, it becomes your daily bread. If you leave the domain for3 months or more, you forget a lot but when you return to the subject and practice it becomes again your daily bread. You must stay on the track in order not to suffer. This is tough sometimes.
