Does translating literature into another language leads to lose much of its meaning?

words somtimes  change meaning from  lanuguage to  another  and  betwin what  sayed and  what  understood  communication  loose   the  meaning to translateit's  compelsery  to  master  both  language  perfect

yes . it loses because the tranlator has the meaning to translate it

In fact no because if translator qualified especially in both culture increase culture knowledge in target language.

Not necessarily. Many think that this is the case since the SL language's culture may contain symbolisms and images that are quite unfamiliar to the TL speakers; however, this can be avoided by discoverimg a commonality in the form of cultural equivalence.

maybe yes maybe no it's all about what language you want to use and what you want to translate certenly in arabic it could give you the meaning but not in the good order of the sentece

I think yes, it loses. However, this depends of the translator efficiency, the genre, type of target and source language.

It depends on the language in which the original text is written and how much the author uses the popular language that may contain expressions, interjections, which are related to the original text, the background of it, and the craftsmanship of the translator. Certainly, the translator must have a very good knowledge of the language in which he will make the translation, but also the language of the original text, with all its dialects, good knowledge of literature, in order to not affect or at least not change the sense, the humor, the morality and the meaning of the original literary text.

Sure since literature has a close relation with culture ...and as we know every region has its own different culture upon which its literature is done.
