Do you join the banian tree or spring shoots in your office which form a part in the unofficial grape vine?

In every office there is an unofficial grapevine media of communication . 

  • CASE STUDY.-Banian tree.There is a group of experienced people who have contacts with many people higher up the ladder (could be unofficial) and they value these contacts more than their actual capability to go up or save their skin. Banian tree in Indian context is a long lasting tree. 
  • Spring shoots comprise of young people who are high performers. But they will leave immediately if given a higher salary. 
  • The HR policy is to cut down the banian tree as it is lethargic and Young people can be ordered to stretch and work for extra  hours  without pay and come on their weekly offs.  
  • You are not that young but introvert and hence not that well connected. If you join the banyan tree you could be getting more unofficial updates but your supervisor would not like you as he can get more job done by the spring shoots .
  • Also if you want to join the banian tree you have to invest your time and money to entertain honchos, but you are always welcome in the spring shoots club. 
  • What would you decide?

in general, let your hard work and dedication be your Banian tree, and do not take advantage of others and do not let others to take advantage of you. This is like the chicken and the fish, the chicken deliver an egg and all can hear its noise and the fish deliver thousands of eggs and no body hear it, let your work be your noise and give it enough chance to be your Banain tree, if did not work then you are in the wrong place and you should have enough courage to look for your way at other places
