No , marketing is not only advertising , relationships and media communications . These issues are only a very small parts of marketing . Marketing is a science and in a company , marketing starts before the production of the product . It begins with the "idea" . Marketing defines which product has to be  created , who will be the main customer segments to target , in which countries this product will be sold , in which marketing channels will the product be sold , which marketing strategies will be applied , which will be the right brand strategies to apply , what will be the expected profit ratio by the executive management , which pricing strategies will be applied , what will be the average sales levels monthly and annually , how will be conducted the analytic product management process , what are the results of analytic customer surveys , comparing to competitors what should be the market share of the brand etc . It's marketing who defines all with executive management of the company . These are very analytic and strategic parts of marketing . Communication and media management come after these parts . But most people confuse marketing with advertising . Today marketing has7P and this science covers everything related to the brands and products . So marketing is not only creative , it's strategic , analytic , operational and creative .

yes, it is subsidery of marketing department,,, in real practical relationship,,, sales is daughter in law of marketing, they live in same home but do not have good relationship through out their life.

There are marketing agencies that utilize graphic design and provide these services to organization via designing collaterals.....The other marketing which is sales is being corteous and friendly to the customer, having good product knowledge and good sales skills. Relationship management fals under that category too....they are not sending marketing emails or designing the posters

Sales is just a fraction of marketing. Branding, digital, direct marketing and research also comprise marketing including communications, public relations and brand communications.Sadly, myopic mentalities restrict marketing to sales and fail to see the bigger picture. that is the main reason many Pakistani firms lag behind in promotion of firms and products and proper grooming of marketing talent.
