It is not a thankless job that's what I'm certain especially when your customer appreciates what you did. A "Thank you very much, you've been helpful" is rewarding already. However, if the management can do more to acknowledge the effort of their specialists and provide some rewards or even certificates, it'll be better and helps to motivate to do more or just to be consistent.

Yes for sure, specially in Arab countries, CSRs have been treated in a careless way with a low payment salaries.
