Thank you for the invitation

As a project manager, you need to be able to manage risk. That involves setting the right expectations with your customers, stakeholders and project team members. It involves being able to plan contingencies, react to changing situations and engage and motivate the resources needed to execute those contingency plans. It involves being able to communicate with and translate between stakeholder groups and your team. You need to be able to put things in terms that the business understands/finds valuable and translate the business messaging to the technical and functional members of your project team. You need to be able to manage a budget, manage people, manage requirements, know how to ask the right questions and whose opinions and feedback to trust. You have to be able to do what's right for the project even if it means "being the bad guy" to some stakeholder group or team members. You need to be able to push your own ego and personal objectives to the side and dedicate yourself to the success of the project. You need to be able to deal with ambiguity early in a project knowing that there will be times that you won't have all of the answers. You need to establish and enforce role clarity, responsibility and accountability on your project and stand behind it.

I've known Project managers who only do one or two of these things well and they've been moderately successful. However, it's the multi-faceted individual that can balance all of these skills who really stands out.

If you like to organize and coordinate, appreciate challenge, variety and solving problems,  you don't shy away from constructive confrontation and you can delegate to others even if you think that you could do the job better than they could, then you might have what it takes to be a PM.

If you have to have your hands in everything, can't trust others to do their job, need to have all of the glory and recognition for yourself, like to hide or avoid bad news or you're looking for a repetitive, mechanistic job, then I'd probably recommend not pursuing project management. You may be able to survive, but you'll be unlikely to be happy.

Best greetings and appreciation

Yes. It is a suitable career path and I am using it for my recent projects.

Project's management is a big field which can be devided to 3 essentials approaches : 1) Strategic Management,2) Tactical Management and 3) Operational Management

More then that, the experience of managers transforms the field to a subjective domain without paying attention from them, because we see in many cases in complex systems and big warehouses for example a lot of mistakes done because of that

If we regroup all that, and we do a small analysis, we found that the existing management in practice is the Operational Management based on the experience of managers. It's a good think , but the purpose is not only manage things, the main purpose is the gain of time and money, so the main purpose is a good optimization. In the other hand, we never can get a good optimization if we get a local satisfaction  on one field or one project, ... A good optimization and the perfect optimization is when we detect the real constraints and all of them (it may be also risks) and optimize the global system to get the wished management, so here i speak on the strategic Management

So, my response is YES, i'm interesting to the Project Management and do it for the perfect case (My actual studies are done to implement Strategic Approaches for Management and to reduce the subjective decisions).. Thanks for reading

Best regards
