This is actually a subjective question. Areas requiring detailed work will need higher levels of Illumination from 500 to 1000lux, while general illumination around the work machines is to be kept low. The areas where the machines are large or are less accessible they will need to have a lower illumination level and a hand held light source to be used for seeing. The area for tools and spares need to be lit up well. However one can refer the WHO GMP practices and IESNA lighting handbook or any other regional standards for additional details.
