What is the difference between a menu bar and a task bar?

let me try to keep it simple

Menu bar; horizontal bar with drop down/sub menu usually at the top of your computer screen while you use programs e.g Ms word/Excel. it aid your navigation. 

Task Bar; located at the bottom of your screen showing applications that are already open that u can navigate to Or frequently used items, you hav pinned there, so you can easily locate.
