In slab, the drawing shows certain bars and their spacing, suppose that particular bar size isn't available, what will you do?

In actual, change of bars size shall be authorized by the Structural (Design) Engineer, because Structural Engineer is well versed with the structural analysis & design.

If the spacing doesn't create any hindernace for the compaction of the concrete, then you can go for the higher bar dia reinforcement !!
