The main job reponsibility of a Financial manager in a manufacturing/engineering company is to provide financial asistance like quotes, petty cash, hotels medical etc were the rest of the personnnels and system do not allow time

A good finance manager in a Manufacturing or Engineering Company is to do cost analysis.  Can the cost within the supply chain, whether fixed or variable, be reduced so that the profits can be increased.  An excellent finance manager will also be able to do industry analysis and bench-marking to determine if the prices set by the company for its product are reasonable based on its market target (low cost leader, quality differentiation, etc.).

Additionally the finance manager should ensure that all financial reporting is done, so that the business is never penalized for late reporting.
