What are the responsibilities of an electrical engineer working in a building?

i am a fresh electrical graduate.Got a job as electrical engineer for a already constructed building. My job responsibility is taking care of all the electrical maintenance. I am afraid i will portray myself as incompetent.

I want to know what are good books/topics for me to learn so that i can excell in the job. Also if someone could advise me on what is the work like and responsibliites.

Best start would be to read NEC for safety requirements as advised by Rami Mizyed with IEEE Standard 241- IEEE Recommended Practice for Electric Power Systems in Commercial Buildings. You may purchase it from IEEE or download it from given below link.
