Customers more important because if marketer will understand customer needs, it would be easier for him/her to find appropriate and relevant distribution channel.

Food industry typically works best with word of mouth type of advertising especially if food is great... example is JCO donuts; though the market is dominated by brands like Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts etc... but the taste of JCO is simply good.
