What is your opinion regarding advertisements that are completely unrelated to the product itself?

Some advertisements might be really nice and creative but when you think about it, they are completely unrelated to the product. They don't give an idea about the benefits, uses, or even specifications of the product.

Do you think this is a smart way of advertising your products? If so, then why?
