Why computer and technical skills so demanding in this days recruiting circle?

Its the age of the technology. Even if you work for a fast food place you need to be able to learn how to use a POS system. I have3 years of law enforcement experience and I used the computer everything. We had to write reports almost on a daily basis and we used Microsoft Office. Then we would submit the report on the intranet for our sergeant to approve. Being tech savvy is always an advantage. It alway takes time for some people to learn the technical side, and then there are some people like me who only need to be showed something once.
