NO way, being jealous you cannot do a healthy competition. Jealous bring hatred, dislike-ness, and hate never bring good results even in professional life........

No, Jelousy always play negative role in teamwork. Positive competition between team members is good and ends up with execellent results (Positive competition is far more different topic than jelousy)

Jealousy as seen in its grammatical context - no.
These feelings are almost always negative and results in ganging up on a colleague who seems favoured.
This can be done through 'office gossip', victimisation, distorting facts around the person which lead to a very unhealthy work environment.
Where there is jealousy - there are all kinds of malicious behaviour and never conducive to a healthy competitive working environment.
A manager should be fair to all and ensure that promotions are based on the relevant criteria and not favouritism.
When particular complaints - innuendos crop up involving one particular person - a manager should nip it in the bud before it escalates.
Calling the relevant parties in to let them speak - usually shows the facts and motives.
Often some who were party to jealous behaviour change their story and then the instigator is left all alone.

yes and yes !! i use jealousy to increase production into my team members ! also i encourage every one who have the best production in my team.

In some Extent Yes it is good! But it depend on how you Use to it! But s ome competitiveness could be good as it can push people to do better, and some people tend to do better under pressure.
However being overly competitive isn't good because it's true, they are comparing themselves to other people constantly and if they don't meet those standards, they will see themselves as inferior and there will be less productivity if a person feels this way.One always strives to beat the other person in productivity regardless of quality.
I think sharing the workload equally and supporting each other could be more productive then being competitive.

In general, I see jealosy as a negative feeling. Team member need to cooperate to achieve the highest productivity levels and jealousy will most probably destroy that attitude. Imagin if your right hand is gealous from your left!

There is a fine difference between jealousy and competition! Competition is always welcome, but not jealousy which eventually leads to sour relationships.

Healthy compitition, and strong interpersonal skills of the team leader - are key ingredients for a productive and performing satisfied team.
The behavior of the team reflects that of its project manager/ team leader.

Jealousy is a raw human emotion created when a person feels insecure or anxious about his importance or value to other people.
When jealousy occurs in the office, it puts a strain on relationships and causes problems.
Workers could side with one employee over another, which leads to office gossip, sabotage and even bullying.
As an employer, recognizing what causes jealousy in the workplace is the first step to eliminating it.
