Our policy allows for such workers to be compansated by either adding the hours to their leave or coming late the following day.

Compensating employees for overnight and weekend shifts is based on the terms of the employement as stated in their employment contract as well as the company's human resourse manual. Generally, overnight compensation consist of a meal as well as monetary...1.5 after the first 4 hours and 2 thereafter. Weekend shifts are similar, hoiwever if the shift falls on a public holiday, then additional payment is necessary...2 times or 3 times.

Overtime pay and comp offs is the answer however it may not be possible at times to provide overtime or comp-offs but this depends on the employee and his relation with his immediate supervisor.

This will mainly depend on what is indicated on the Labor Law of the country. There are computations for these. It is also better if the employee gets additional compensation (which will depend on the boss).

Hi Alia

If overnight and weekend shifts generally not a part of the employees job profile, then they should be compensated with reimbursement on food during extra hours and travel back home. This again depends on the eligibility of the employee and the country Norms on how much to reimburse. There are some organisations which fix a particular amount for ‘out of office hours’ working. It’s best to follow the company rules.

You consider existing overtime wages in the country or locality, revenue and productivity during overtime and time on work among other factors.

This compensation depends upon the agreement/contract between the Employer and Employee. In general as per labour law act (Fair Labour Standard Act) it is not required to pay extra or compensate for night shift, but an employee non exempt worker should be paid 40 hours a week. If it exceeds than that, should be paid accordingly as per FLSA, for extra hours of work. But it all comes down to agreement!

Such Additional Work has Two Types Of Compensation : 1st is Financial With OT and Incentives and To Consider The Employee in his Evaluation or Pormotion Move

While Other One is Moral to Appreciate The Employee and by Giving Thanks Words .. Sometimes it's More Important than The Financial Compensation.

I assume this is additional work/overtime (some employees work contractually on weekend or graveyeard shifts), the amounts are mandated by the respective labour law of many countries in the region. So is the amount of extra days/hours you are allowed to make them work.
