Lean management is also called just in time management where you do not store things that are not needed immediately. The timing is such that the raw material is there when and where you want it , and there are minimum production and transport bottlenecks. For example in earlier days news papers were transported long distances even across international borders. Now due to improvement in printing technology you have local editions printed in even small towns. The same quality is maintained. You do not have to store huge volumes of newsprint in1 location. And papers have more local news which is appreciated by the local population where the newspaper serves.
