6 WAYS TO INFLUENCE CUSTOMERS

1.Make them feel uniquely special. Smile and truly welcome your customer. Exchange pleasantries without going to a hard sell first. Your attitude must be one of friendly service and interest in them.

2.Offer lots of information. Consumers look for trustworthy, knowledgeable individuals to educate them on a purchase. Trust is the most important factor leading to long-term relationships and repeat sales.

3.Customers need to be involved in the decision. Help them by using sensory techniques. If possible, place the object being considered in their hand. This not only offers touch, but a sense of ownership, which you should encourage. Say, “Your new earrings will look wonderful with that outfit.” Encourage shoppers to touch a fabric, handle and listen to your handmade instruments, taste or smell the products if appropriate.

4.Tell the story. How did you invent this new process of working? Did a trip to a foreign country inspire you? Where did you come across a wonderful antique fabric used in your creation? Stories are a powerful connector which will become “part of your product,” and the buyer will retell those stories when showing their purchase to others.

5.Make realistic promises. Taking a special order for a customer? Be honest about the time frame and make sure you follow up. Contact them after the order to thank them again, and reassure them about their order, but don’t over-promise. Be realistic, and then exceed their expectations!

6.Provide a high level of service. Show respect for them and for their time by being on time for any appointments you may have set up. If you are late, call. Be consistent with a quick response, and keep them well-informed.

The "contantious issue" here is to strike a balance between "Sales-Profit motive" & "Ethical motive". Some people may urgue that they are only interested in making sales-profits & the "rest" is not important thus it doesn't matter or concern them how they get the sales-profits. On the other hand, there are some people who also urgue that getting sales-profits alone isn't enough, they need to ensure that their customers are delighted too. These two notions & urguements is what causes the dilema. Thanx for the invitation

This will be good in the short term

But if the product has low quality the results will be bad over the long term

Thanks for your invitation,

Emotional branding/Marketing is a term used within marketing communication that refers to the practice of building brands that appeal directly to a consumer's emotional state, needs and aspirations.

It’s a common occurrence now days for marketing persons to play with emotions of an existing or potential customer. Although impact last longer with quality, pricing, packaging, services, branding of product or services.

I support this act till it is being used to arouse the emotions to sale the product or service.

I object to such emotional campaigns/advertisements which divides society/people/region on the basis race / caste / religion / nationalism etc.

Recently we had advertisement based on division

In China where a black person turns into white Chinese after using certain face wash.

In India Pantanjali products of BABA RAMDEV has such kind advertisement/campaigns of nationalism

While using creativity to arouse emotions for increasing sales of products /services is fine if done within the limit.

From marketers point of view this technique is very useful to create an urge among customers for your product/service (like most of the insurance agencies and investment banks are doing in India) but some morally it's been criticized as it stops the normal decision making process for any product and service and the decisions are fully based on emotions and affection.

The trend is now rising, most of the marketers are using emotional appeal in their marketing campaigns to have maximum appeal to the customers...

Thank you for invitation. I don't support ir, because it's one kind of cheat  method.

Obviously YES !, Its a common and approved marketing strategy among many theories. The marketing itself is to create curiosity and should standout from competitors and make the way easy to sales team. which is the first step in "SMarketing".
