Desktop Support - you support desktop. You're more hands on computer desktops. You replace hardware. Provide service for corporation. Provide service for employees inside company. However, people working at staples or best buy can take this job title as well.-helpdesk - you take phone calls and fix software issues over the phone, or remote connect to people's computers and fix it. Provide service for employees inside company..-Technical support engineer - support company products to external customers. Example, cisco makes routers and the tse provide customer service. Paid very well. .-Technical support rep - low level and low pay. provide general first point customer service , often for lower products. 

and it depends on the company to manage that positions.

Desktop Support:-

in this case you Deal with users issues & fix problems with devices, programs,etc .Physically on site.

Technical Support:-

in this case you deal with users issues through phone calls or remote desktop support telling users or customers steps & advices how to solve the problem remotely or through phone.
