Job description is more important. Because salary would depend based on my job description.

ln my opinion, both are just as important.

A person should accept a position when several criteria are met. The persons own competency, illustrated through qualifications and experience. This coupled with the ability to combine the two, makes the person valuable to the company. The other aspect is the persons own ambition and want to develop. When an opportunity arises to satisfy those needs, which will allow advancement, acceptance of the position is perfectly reasonable. Certainly Maslow's hierarchy come into focus and therefore an decision based on sound judgment is needed. When these conditions are met, I believe there is equilibrium. Position and salary are negotiable based on the fulfillment of those needs.

In large companies, there are many opportunities for accomplishing personal goals, but only if they are aligned with company values and culture. Large companies tend to be hierarchical and position is very important In fulfilling objectives. There is room for ambition, and there is room mediation and position based on merit.

Aspiring to positions is not a bad thing. In multinationals, a person is fairly well paid for position.

In small companies, this may not be the case though and that can create room for discontentment. When this occurs, one must rely on good judgement, seek good advise and make sound decisions. If there is imbalance between salary and position then some careful diplomacy can be helpful.

BOTH are important.

I believe that both are important considerations when embarking on a new job. If you take the job because of the salary alone, you would be comfortable financially but I'm certain that there will be that

nagging part of your heart that tells you to go back to your dream profession. Outside you look happy but deep inside, you would feel empty because your job does not really stimulate you and make you realize your full potentials. Similarly, if you take the job with meager compensation, there will be that nagging part of your mind that tells you to find a job that satisfies you professionally and financially. We can't deny the fact that money makes life sweeter. An overlabored employee no matter how devoted to his profession feels bitter when he is not compensated well. Thus, both salary and the job itself should be major considerations in taking a job offer.

Both are important but the job description is more important in comparison because sometimes the job description may detetmine what salary you will get. Secondly, i would be very glad & comfortable to secure a job based on my job description (doin what i want & what i feel i know or understand better and what can facilitate my career development & enhancement).

On the other hand, i would mainly consider salary if i am heavily indebted or in financial crisis or stress thus my main aim would jumping out such a hostile situation

Usually salary is set according to the job description. So it is obvious that the job description is more important than the salary.

But for me and in all honesty, the salary is more important than the job description.

None of them are important to me. What matters is what contribution I can make in my job while using my skills and experience. Also the salary (the money everyone is paid or his work) depends on the amount of problems you can solve for others. The things that are important for me are the value I can add to business using my unique skills, experience, knowledge. Of course it's important for me to be well paid because I value myself and my skills and the time I am investing in my development. At the same time money is a result of one's contribution. Problems solves and value added are the ones that matter to me.
