Before answer this question we need to define some terminologies:

 

*Pie Chart: a type of graph in which a circle is divided into sectors that each represent a proportion of the whole.  (Source: Wikipedia)*Pie charts are used to display the contribution of each value (slice) to a total (pie). Pie charts always use one data series. To create a pie chart of the number of attendees in event X, execute the following steps:

 

1.      Open Excel.

 

2.      Write down the values you want to show in pie chart.

 

Number of Attendees of Event X

 

 

Male

Female

 

 

 

 

 

3.      Select the range A1:C2.

 

4.      On the Insert tab, in the Charts group, choose Pie, and select Pie.

 

 

The Result will be like this

 

 

   

5.     We can customize the chart by adding a percentage of attends in event X with selecting chart layout number1 from charts layouts.
