Whoever I try to select among the great leaders Steve Jobs is completely out of competition in my personal list of leadership perfect model. But since Mr. Ahmed Alhussaini already mentioned him, I would take a chance to stress the great leadership example demonstrated by Kanosuke Matsushita. This guy started his empire being just elementary school graduate and whole his life he tried to gather around him more educated and more talented people and learn from them. Studying every day from those who knows more,  sharing the company mission and values with his team openly, trust to team leaders - makes him one of the most bright example of leadership inth century.

Steve Jobs, despite his attempts to create another company, Steve Jobs got his old job back in Apple, here he displayed no remorse for those who kicked him out, then pretty much used his skills as leadership to bring Apple to what has it come today.

One of my favorite leadership by example stories is that of Mahatma Gandhi. How closely does what you say as a leader align with what you do.

The following story will inspire you as it inspired me; from it we can conclude that a true leader will advise others to do certain stuffs he/she truly believes in and not based on abstract actions:

there was a young boy who had become addicted to and obsessed with eating sugar. His mother decided to get

help and took the long and hot journey with her son walking many miles and hours under the scorching sun.

She finally reached Gandhi and asked him to tell her son to stop eating sugar, it wasn’t good for his health. Gandhi replied, “I cannot tell him that. But you may bring him back in a few weeks and then I will talk to him.” The mother was confused and upset and took the boy home.

Two weeks later she came back. This time Gandhi looked directly at the boy and said “”Boy, you should stop eating sugar. It is not good for your health.” The boy nodded his head and promised he wouldn’t. The boy’s mother was puzzled. She asked “Why didn’t you tell him that two weeks ago when I brought him here to see you?”

Gandhi smiled and said “Mother, two weeks ago I was eating a lot of sugar myself.”
