What does a Sales Business Development team prefer: a person with local market knowledge or a person with skills proven in other geographical region?

A team would prefer someone with knowledge in their  geographical region market because prices differ ( local materials tend to be cheaper and all imports are higher , so the team member must know the region prices )

As a business minded they would always think for advancement and moving forward of the company so they would choose a well skilled person with a wide knowledge in marketing not only locally but geographically.

It depends if business is to market internally then a local market knowledge is required, but if the market is to be driven outside borders of the country definitely 

a person with skills proven in other geographical region
