Why do you do sales/business development? What do you find interesting about sales?

Do you do sales because this is what you found yourself doing by time. - Because this is what the job market demands? - Because of the good financial return? - Because the challenge of achieving targets, etc.. - Because this is the field of your study? - Because you simply like sales - Any other reason?

In the traditional sense, business development people deal with creating channels, partnerships, and stategic opportunities for the company.  Sales are the people that go and get people to give you money for your product. 

 

Sales bring in money – the lifeblood of any new company. For this reason, business developers should ensure a dependable sales team is in place from the word go in order to support and sustain the company through its challenging embryonic stages and into a hopefully successful and profitable future

To be honest I never chose sales and marketing it chose me as when i came to Bangalore in2002 as a fresher I didnot have any one to guide me to choose a career in which line and as my cousin was in Sales he recommended me jobs which is Sales and I joined as Sales Executive and then the journey was always been telesales, customer care and sales oreiented or marketing strategies oreinted then I chose MBA also in International Marketing as I wanted a global approach.

 

 

I like to be a sales maker not a sales taker,i always tried to stay away from sales because i always thought that i wouldn't do well to sell something but when i moved to USA i found out that i can successfully do it and later on it became an easy way for me to make excellent earnings.I like sales because i can control my earnings and i see recognition of my hard working on every pay check..
