Off course No, because major part of the research in hydrology mainly concern about global and trans boundary water conflicts regions. In that case large basin management is required either constructing Dam or Barrage. Consequently, most of the engineering decision relied on the field of applied hydrology e.g. Urban Drainage and Pipeline Systems in that case you may need to analyze the Maximum rainfall and return periods, connected stream or where it will discharge. The design rainfall also suffered due to lack of accurate real-time rainfall measurement facilities. In conclusion, those research paper calibrated and validated their hydrologic models using observed field data that can be applied to solve the real-time water engineering problems.
