Why is it imperative for the lender banker to know the past evolution of the business; the state of its current situation and make a diagnosis on the likely future?

The Lender  banks needs to make sure  company past , current  , future  situation  to assure  that  the  fund will be  acquired back easily and there is no  risk  involved
