While writing and speaking effectively are important skills to employ daily in your life, they aren’t the most important when it comes to communicating.  That spot is reserved for listening. The importance of listening is likely something you’ve heard before.  If it wasn’t our parents scolding us for not listening, then it was Epictetus’ famous quote reminding us, “Nature gave us one tongue and two ears so we could hear twice as much as we speak”.
