To make it short, you'll need to:

1- Establish a quality management system (if not already establish).

2- Set measurable goals and objectives.

3- Follow up the implementation of your system by comparing the actucal measures to the planned.

IF you want it in details, you'll probably need more than one topic to cover that!

Heba, I need a little elaboration of your query. Are you seeking the answer for Quality Management System (QMS) director or Quality Control side?

Let me try to share the answer from both position:

If I am a director of QMS division then, my priorities are;

1.      Ensure that Quality objectives to be employed at organizational, divisional and individual level.

2.      The policies and procedures are up to date and reviewed as per the current practices.

3.      Cost effectiveness projects to be launched and through review are made on it.

4.      Internal and External audits are done in a professional level and certifications to be ensured at any cost.

5.      Training to be imparted and record are maintain as per the requirement.

Being the director of Quality control, I will focus on;

1.      To minimize the quality defects at each steps and process.

2.      To me the quality level and ensure that final and external audits are cleared for smooth shift of material.

3.      Have close working with production line for smooth working.

4.      To intact system and manual working through teams.

5.      Ensure audits are done as per the set standards and no compromise on quality.

6.      Bring innovation in audit techniques.

These are few pointers which I should focus on; do let me know for further details.

The Quality Manager would attend the Monthly POR meetings and/or Management Review, definately be part of Supplier issues, along with Customer issues (Reduce PPM....)They would be on the Team when doing corrective action, root cause analysis, review all PPAP submissions prior to being sent out, part of the APQP team, sign off ECRs and ensure any necessary tasks are completed prior to closing ECR...Housekeeping audits, Performance reviews, audit processes, look for improvements in the processes, discipline, sign off all quality related procedures, instructions, etc. Review control plans, FMEAs...These come to mind for now...I'm sure you will see lot's more!

Firstly, I will perform a meeting with the team of the management introducing ourselves to each other, discussing eveything happened in the past about problems and how we can submit a solution, and as a manager, determining the qualifications of each mamber so the task I'll deliver to everone will be accoring to these qualifications and so on.

I think the meeting is very important step as a starting point.

Tasks may depend upon your approach towards quality. You may need to studt the existing system and see where gap lies to improve those. Ultimate objective is productviity and cost effectiveness which only comes with the deployment of any Quality System. Basic of this would include Documentation, Training, Implementation and maintennace of that system

Simply, You would do eveyrhting to ensure Products/Services are being delievered as per customer requirement (Core of Role)

It's always great to identify your capabilities this what I think:

1.We must first of all need to go through the company operating processes.

2. Compare or evaluate the measurable processes.

3.In case of any problems identified in processes apply - DMAIC six-sigma tool (SIPOC analysis will play a major role in getting to minute details)

4.Decide the improvement levels and discuss the time required to measure the improvement with the with management.

5.Analyse and present the operations problems.

6.Request the process heads to identify the improvement and control measures for the operating processes.

7. Identify and design the measurable tools.

8.Monitor the improved and control processes frequently.

9.In case of identifying the same problems discuss with management to go for - DMADV six-sigma process.

10.Verify the process and the outcomes.

Thank you.
