Employees and employers are each other customers. If customers are not satisfied with the product its better to look for a replacement.  So if your employee is looking for a new opportunity let them try and look for a new one even that employee is your most important team member. People develop, grow and leave because each & everyone is replaceable. Talent is abundant and opportunities are scarce.

There could be too many reasons for that. The ones that I can think of are:

- It is better for both of us if they do. Either they don't fit or I can't afford them any more.

- In many cases the number of candidates outnumber the promotion opportunties.

- I have a problem in retaining them (offering noncompetitive packages, lack of career progression efforts, ineffective management, fainancial instability (whether in the company or in the local community), suspected future (agin either in the company or in the local community), substandard business culture. etc.)

- They have an opportunity in a stronger fainancial community.

If I want to stop them from leaving the company and I can afford that, I will start by identifying the root causes of their decisions and eliminate those. In the mean time, I should resolve any of the above issues to improve my company's competitiveness.

- No longer happy with the environment they are in.

- No career growth

- If your employees are leaving the company, ask the immediate supervisor first. Maybe they can help you answer the question. - you know what i am mean
