What is important for you as a company's employee, company rules or boss order?

I believe both,bosses follow company rules and procedure and we should follow them too.

No ship run without a Master brain, Captain. Company and boss, each feeds upon the other. You will never find work accomplish if you can't stand your boss.

Of Corse company roles, because the company roles is the system which manage all of the company, but sometimes we need to mix between the company roles and the boss roles.

As an HR person you have the task of juggler to keep the boss, employees and the company happy. It is  no mean task. Being a Human resource person you are reponsible for the employees, yet you are required to follow the policies and rules of the company and keep the boss happy.

While the company rules should be inviolable the interpretaion should be correct and not motivated. Some times the boss may not have got the complete feedback or inputs thus the directions issued may be flawed, as HR you are required to give him the complete feedback to help make an informed decision.

The employee is the purpose for you being there, but the smart allecks should be kept an eye upon who twist and turn rules to suit them.

Definitely both.  

The boss' orders should be within company rules. 

If not, the company's authority should take an action against the boss in such situations, to prevent any wrong from happening in the future. 

A subordinate staff should not be blamed in such situation, as they are just following a bad / wrong person in the boss' post.  The point is to take an action against the source of the problem and not the messengers.

Company rules should be followed more than the word of  boss as they have been set after being studied and analysed. Also, just because the person is in a managerial position, it doesn't mean that they are fit to lead or to be followed

Rules are made of piecrust that are made to be broken and boss order as long as for the common good of everybody; so do it.. but in case the boss is wrong apply company rules.. just like you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours..
