With customization of products and services, supply chain should be flexible? agree or disagree? why or why not?

Agree and Disagree both. here are the reasons for both.

1. Agreed, because there are many factors in manufacturing companies and where assemblies and supporting items does not matter for buyers, so apply POSTPONEMENT policy in manufacturing plants and reduce the SKUs and unify the product. from customer point of view all are different features different brands in fact most the assemblies are common. Example, 10-years ago each model of a mobile had its own charger,,,, today we have one kind of charge which can fit most of the models of the same brand and some time even work for different brand as well.

2. Disagree - because there are few products or services where buyers are very keen about it. Even though it could  not be the vital part of our product range we have to keep this in order to keep the customer with us and do not let them move to competitors.

So need to by applied case by case.

followed on the above question  i hereby agree  that SC should be flexible by   segregating  products based on specifications, dimensions , value  in order to reduce time , gain extra space in warehouse , alerted easily and respond will be more higher and quick since any user will gain a clear information on the product and knowledge will be transferred easily.As a SC data will be easily implemented and transferred in timely manner
