How to prepare for external inspection?

All the plan should be check, all the test  result and work should be completed

 as per the specification of the project document, the inspectin area should be ready .the safety area should be keep in place.

start with collecting information from User manuals, inspection and work history

External inspection starts with drawings, previous inspection history and previous repair summary. Based on the above details and as per requirement of relevant codes, external inspection to be done as per approved check list.

if a foreign inspections have provided all the documents which inspectors requested, they must be prepared to date

Coordinate schedule to counterpart contractor, advice lead in-charge, check RFI with official attachments (Standards, ITP, MS, drawings, etc..), risks assessment, check valids tools, visualized area for hazardawareness, secure technicians safety procedure and comply to safety requirements before inspection take place. 

first you need to access to drawings and use them to see if all parts are installed or . then you need to check the fastening parts and joints to be implemented as per Dwg.in this part you can provide a QC format for installation plus a punch list as an appendix . for QA . which will be put in final MCbook.

for bolt joints and clamps you need to check if the type of the bolting material and the quantity is correct and then you must check the amount of the torque by random check with a torque meter . and provide a Qc format for that .

also some times there are some types of insulation blockes needed th be placed betwin externals and equipment . mostly in low temp situations .

the other aspects such as levelness and plumbness are to be considered as well acc. to site specifications for steel structures instullation . 

some of other componentes are important for safety such as ladder back closers . or grating side guardes and etc. at last you need to look for painting and coating damages . and its final .

Make sure the area or surface that needs to be inspected is free from any defects and all safe work procedures are adhered to.

BY CALIBREATION REPORT .DATE OF CALIBREATION AND PRODUCT IS OK ACCORDING TO ITS STANDARD.

Requirements to be extracced from general arrangment drawing, data sheet, specification and to be prepared as per activity of the approved Inspection & Test Plan and approved procedure to be followed to perform the activity. Test results to evaluated as per given acceptance criteria. 

1. Review the inspection plan, drawings, previuos inspection history and previous repair/ modification records. Prepare an inspection checklist.

2. Before inspection, ensure that permit to work is available for inspection. Conduct the inspection as per the inspection check list and record the observations.

3. Preapare inspection report based on the observations. Give reference to the codes/standards, procedure, specifications applicable for the inspection.
