well it depends onthe applications if applications are I/O intensive then 10Gb or 1Gb does not make much differnce, if your application is throughput intense then yes 10Gb is better choice.
Obviously, it's 10 times faster than 1 GbE, you need check you switch /router its already upgraded to 10Gig.
