Actually PSD2Wordpress conversion very popular. Most of clients don't want to use a ready-made theme off the shelf from ThemeForrest like marketplaces. Therefore they are more into tailored version of Wordpress theme for that they go for PSD design first and then for Wordpress theme built on the base of that PSD.

In a nutshell, PSD2Wordpress conversion has quite a big market now and will remain forever.
