I think that the most important traits for a skilled leader communicator is the clear speech with which what he/she wants to convey is done effectively and also be persuasive in their talks.A good leader should also have basic manners while talking to their superiors as well as those working under them for good relations between the two.

The most important trait is to be a good listener first...when you listen carefully and with attention...only then you can communicate well and can relay the message that you want to. Communication is a two way process and to be skilled leader communicator...you need to be patient, polite and have a clear understanding of what has been asked. Also the response has to be specific and to the point and should not be long and dragging.

As a leader, you need outstanding command of respect, charisma and assertion in addressing human resource issues and challenges. In addition you need adequate knowledge and in-depth understanding of relative portfolio handled. Lastly you need a flexible approach, i.e, exercise different styles of leadership with relevant situations and timeliness.
