How does one develop a square to round shape ?

we can use oxygen and acytelyne to cut edge and corners.

Need to look at all aspects of end requirement of product  including quality and cost. Machining and rolling are options to be chosen based on quality and cost.

Machine the corners in a lathe if possible

it can be done by a rolling machine
