Hi,

I agree with the two comments below. In addition to that, I think it is important for the brand to house itself in the minds of the people. This can be done by increasing its presence in the market through ATL and BTL advertising and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Consumers buying pattern is determined by:

1) Price

2) Quality

3) Trend

4) Peer pressure

5) Trust

6) Image of the Brand/Product, etc...

It is therefore vital to understand what aspect does your product or brand touch and hence invest in prioritizing that particular aspect.

Good Day!!!

Product positioning is about defining how you will "differentiate" your product and create a value for market.

A good positioning strategy is influenced by:

1- Market profile:

Size of market , present competitors, stage of growth etc.

2- Customer segments:

Groups of prospects with similar wants & needs.

3- Competitive analysis:

SWOT Analysis i.e., Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

4- Method for delivering value:

How you deliver value to your market at the highest level and strategies  to compete or surpass the competitors and to have highest number of satisfied customers.
