The number of persons inside confined space depends on certain conditions. Before any confined Space job, Risk assessment to be done and depending upon the conditions (listed below), the maximum number of persons can be finalized.
1. Design of CS. (Furnace/ heater internal construction design is different that any tray column)
2. Free Space to move with or without Breathing apparatus
3. Rescue Considerations (rescue plan)
4. Ventelation (normally6~12 airchanges/ hr but if manpower is increased it should be increased.)
5. Type of Work (cold or hot), more manpower can be allowed in case of cold work, but during Hot work inside CS it should be minimized.
6. Communication. (the type of communication system you are using, only visual or some electronice A/V system
