first you need to know on which satellite u need to point your antenna , its depend from LoS and band needed so a link budget can be done based on your location ' gps' uplink .. 

equipment needed :  antenna ( tx / rx ) BUC ( based on link budget calculation ) LNB ;  cables ect..modem / dvb ( depend on the service you want )...
