Everyday!

I am working in a private institute where kids come for extra classes. 

Everyday a new story about a new child with a new problem!

Dear Ms.Amal

I am not from the teaching  and education field but I am interested in this extremely important field. I understand that a country's future depends on the kind of education it imparts to its students and people!! I have benefited by the good deeds of fantastic, wonderful  and selfless   teachers . I shall remain grateful for ever to those teachers and teachers in general as a community!

In the context of developing countries like India I have felt that the people concerened paid much attention to the students who were already doing well to see that they move towards achieveing100 per markes in chosen subjects!

The average or dull students ( by their standards and by no means my own assessment) were left to fend for themselves! Instead of making more efforts to support the average and failing students, ""bright students " were singled out and special coaching was conducted.

There for I am of the opinion that schools must concentrate on upgradation of failing and average students ( while doing coaching for bright students separately if needed) to see that the weakest of the student also gets encouragement  and has a chance to chug ahead in life and secure his /her future

in cities , where there is arat race to secure admissions right from kindergarten through schools to universities, there is a stringent selection process and not entirely based on merit. Money rules and students/ parents who are able to  huge fees are able to secure admission. kindergartens, schools are for teaching and if high percentage marks is made a prerequsite for admission, average and poor students are left high and dry. in one case i know the cust off percentage was clsoe to hundred% as a preqaulification crietria.    

In another incident, I was witness to a sordid episode where a poor student had to leave school because his parent was unable pay fees. Education should be  for all! 

Non availability of prescribed books on time for the academeic year was also a aviodable situation!

Rich or developed countries may find it amusing when i state that, there are not properly equipped schoolds and even a rudimentary school available in certain villages. I have observed that the classes were conducted at a place of worship villages.

also there is dearth of real teachers who truly feel that they want to teach!! For some this has been just a means of earning livelyhood and not their prime interest to teach students!!!

I believe in majority of the countries the world over the field of education gets  less attention and even lesser allocation of funds for edcuation. In some countries, Female children are discriminated against and and not offered a chance to go to schools! 

I feel that Education for all is important and education of female child is most important. A male gets education and moves on in life and leads a selfish life, where as if a female is educated she will educate the whole family and by that definition the whole community gets educated and society in general is uplifted  and behaves humanely and justly.
