around2500 hundred years ago a saint born in india called BUDDHA! "take what is of your interest and leave rest to the giver" were the words from him.

approx145 years ago a man was born named Gandhi in india! says if someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer your left cheek..

more or less both the terms are valid in some sort or the other. if difficult people are the need of the hour, tackle them diplomatically. It all depend how is the the volume of yours coming across with them.

Difficult people are difficult to deal with, try and understand were there coming from if no improvments. Ignore them unless it's work related. if your as good as invisble to them you won't have to deal with them. :)

I think you should avoid working with the person when possible. Leave voluntary committees, Choose projects he or she does not impact. Don’t hurt your own career or your business, but avoidance is an option.

Stay on top of the game, and keep conversation strictly professional.

Such people usually make you work a little harder, since that's the only way you can keep them on their toes.

Difficult people do exist at work. Difficult people come in every variety and no workplace is without them. How difficult a person is for you to deal with depends on your self-esteem, your self-confidence and your professional courage.

Dealing with difficult people is easier when the person is just generally obnoxious or when the behavior affects more than one person. Dealing with difficult people is much tougher when they are attacking you or undermining your professional contribution.

I have a diplomatic approach to them, I don't allow them to affect my work performance and I'm trying to accept them so as they are.

Yes they exist, but the point is are they good at job abd difficult to handle in terms of their attitude or work ethics, I presume thats the case and if so2 ways, Do not make them realize or give an impression that you feel they are difficult, treat them equal but make them lead the project or an assignment, its like make the culprit the Judge, it has worked most of the times with me. The other way is to make them your friend, convince them that you are on their side, give them the confidence and motivation that they are the inspiration to many and simultaneously set the rules, its like you gift a laptop or Mobile phone to your13 year old child and make many terms for them to abide, trust me it is the same way, Ignorance or repramanding works the least, or be straight and throw them out.

So, difficult people at work are difficult challenges, but going away from it & fighting is no answer .

They cannot be more challenging than life as such - face them by saying : " Hit me hard like a punching bag -finally someday god will teach his way to them & that they would get Ok with you by itself -if you are ready to have these punches for no rhyme or reason -they would enjoy playing like a funny game & get the right road themselves - leave that to almighty ."
