Is it recommended to put FM200 Cylinders in the same room for which it is installed?

For small room yes you can but for big data centers it should be in separate rooms

Usually the rooms, used FM200 system, are rarely visited. These rooms must be totally closed. All supply and exhaust air ducts must have motorized dampers to shut off immediately if a cross alarm took place.

So the cylinder preferred to be in a separate room near the FM200 control panel, in case of a cross alarm took place and an electric error happened, the cylinder will be reachable and easy to active manually by the head valve of the cylinder in order to release the gas into the protected room.

Also for maintenance and refill it will be better to have the cylinder outside the protected room, in order to keep your room non accessible.

there is two concepts:

1- you can find FM200 cylinder that can be mounted inside the room, suspended fixing an automatic action ( actually it is an Extinguisher)

2- the main usage for FM200 system is the cylinder with smoke detection system, and control panel, and it must have separate space outside the fire zone.

FM200 Cylinders must be installed in separate Room for easy access & operation in case of Fire.

FM200 Extinguishers preferable to put in separate places and insure that the quantity provided by the extinguisher when use in fire doesn't increases the concentration of FM200 in tghe zone over the limits because its toxic risk 

.better put in different places and distributed well according to Architect Coordination

Generally they are installed in the corridors and architects also recommend their installation in corridors.

Both NFPA2001, Clean Agent Standard and ISO14520 allow the cylinders to be placed within or outside the protected space. It is always a good idea to keep the cylinders as close to the protected area as possible and remember to account for ease of access for service and maintenance.
