In my opinion as a PhD researcher in mobile markeitng via social media, choosing the right social media channel to market your product/service greatly depends on your target customers and which social media, i.e. social network they mostly use to get information about their desired products or services.
Most digital marketers use Facebook (creating a Facebook page for the product/service) as a first step to enter the social media marketing world. I would suggest first Facebook and then Instagram and/or Pinterest as the first3 social networks that play a significant role in marketing a new product/service using social media.
Then, depending on your target customers' feedback you may consider creating a YouTube channel for your product in order to give customers more detailed information by uploading specific videos of using the product, etc.
