compared programs like Multimedia Graphic Design (bitmap & vector )i Antivirus Spyware Programming DataBase programs Internet (e.g Browsers & Downloads & Chat)i Drivers Programs finder Office Programs Plugin like flash and JVM etc

the adobe flash and java software (jvm,jdk and plug-ins) crossed platform. (OS Proprietary Software and Opensource both needed)

generally i think its not a good Compare. Linux is completly an Open source OS but Win not.

Linux has diffrent GUI like Gnome,KDE,... but WIndows has only one GUI.

Office programs are just made by Microsoft Co. but Office programs in Linux based OS has diffrent types.

Programing is totally diffrent in these OSes , we need to compile programs in WIndows but u can run pragrams in linux easily cuz its an Open source OS. like Pearl and .Net differents.
