i think it is our qualifications that make up our personality , but i choose personality over qualification because, one may be educated but may lack certain moral qualities or potential that is needed in customer service. take a scenario for an instance, where a personnel has a commanding attitude while he was suppose to have a persuading and sugar quoted tongue in dealing with CUSTOMERS. because a "friendly attitude" is the foundation in Customer Service . Qualification entails (1) Skills (2) knowledge. while Personality. entails (1) Moral behavior (2) Influence (3) Potentials or talents and (4) Experience some times help in shaping up your personality

Qualification comes first, the personality will follow, be smart and optimistic before you will face the customer.

There are instances or mostly that you will not see your customer, you are negotiating only by phone, be always true so you can get their attention.

I totally disagree with the statement that your professional qualifications has anything to do with your personality.

Personality is CHARISMA and it is something natural and you are born with

I know so many highly qualified persons who lacks personality and in some cases even  savoir vivre.

The greatest example of personality and charisma without education is our beloved Prophet PBUH.

Experience and intelligence will help you to assess a customers need and requirement so that you can convince him.

Both:

- You qualification (generic intelligence, applicable knowledge & preperation)

- Your personality (social & emotional intelligence & communication skills)

I dont think qualification sometimes really matter as no one will question someone's qualification when some one from Sales comes to represent his/her company. So Sales people are very smart and follow all skills to close deals very efficiently . Its how you handle your customer and your convincing skills which matter.

Personality and attitude more important than qualifications!!!!

Both qualification & personality do have equal importance in convincing a customer .Qualification brings personality ,qualification is power & personality is an entity generated from that power it is co realted with each other though there are certain exceptions.
