@Adeel that would be Koum & Acton and their venture capatilist Sequoia Capitals.As for the question, I would say a very smart move by Zuckerberg. 1. He's eliminating competition as WhatsApp is the fastest growing platform now. They are adding1 million users per day

2. It will give super ability in terms of1 to1 messaging for the biggest social networm (Isn't it a marraige made in heaven)

3. Edge over Twitter, as Facebook seeing some erosion of its engagement to twitter.

I'm extremely surprised. paying $1 Billion for instagram seems like nothing. I think it's a smart move by Facebook. And to tell you the truth, whenever Facebook buys any product, it improves it tremendously.
