What are the types of maintenance in production facilities?

Preventive maintenance and inspection that routinely checks all machines looking for sound vibration and extra heat and other irregular operation

 Short time jobs 

regular maintenance like lubrication change and filling

Specific jobs like aligmnent

Long time work made during shutdown

plateowrk patching and welding

lifting and rigging jobs

Dear Mr Mohamed, it’s a good Question and to answer it, let me first explain the following:

The types of maintenance include:

1/ Preventive maintenance:

This kind of maintenance is conducted as a preventive measure where equipment is maintained before break down occurs. This type of maintenance has many different variations and is subject of various studies to determine best and most efficient way to maintain equipment. But  I would say, this type of maintenance  is effective in preventing age related failures of the equipment.

2/ Operational maintenance:

This kind of maintenance is conducted while the machine is in use and no detailed technical knowledge is required and it basically consists of inspecting, cleaning, servicing, preserving, lubricating, and adjusting, as required.

3/ Corrective maintenance:

 This kind of maintenance is conducted when a machine orequipment fails, and it leads to downtime in production and it is costly.

 When the machine or equipment has failed or worn out and this type of maintenance is n attempt to bring it back to working order. The major objectives of the program are to.Eliminating breakdown ,.Eliminating deviation ,Eliminating unnecessary repairs and to Optimize all the critical planned system.

I think to be specific there are2 types of maintenance.

- Preventive Maintenance: it should be done at least once in a week which includes proper inspection, servicing, lubrication, regular maintenance of machines in order to avoid any major breakdown. 

- Breakdown/Shutdown maintenance: This type of maintenance is carried out during any major failure, which requires to stop complete operations for at least10-15days or depends on type of process. it includes replacement of major machines of machinery equipment.

I think from my point of veiw and not in the field , i think by always makeing Three things:-

1) Regular maintenance .

2) Regular inspection .

3) Schduel Check up for the cycle work flow.
