I personally had this problem since I was a child, it was only annoying for who sleeps with me in the same room; because I used to make sound with the grinding.

After collage; it become more serious problem. any stressed day used to end with a painful night; I walked up shouting because of the huge pain I was suffering from, I took analgesic to stop the pain. And without stress I had no pain.

When the stress came back; the pain was back too, but this time it was worst. Alot of Analgesic were not enough. I tried everything I always do to relax; but even with Volterix (needle strong Analgesic) the pain did not stop.

I asked my dentist "I don't know!" without asking about anything; that was his answer. I took a second opinion.

My new dentist said; that the pain is caused by the new-wrong applicability of the jaws. And to solve this problem; he prescripe for me Muscles Relaxation (1 pill per day) and made me a Night Guide (device you war on the upper jaw; as just like a dress for your teeth, made of silicon and plastic), he asked me to wear it the whole time at first, and then only while sleeping.

The pain did not stop; even with the bill, Analgesic and the Night Guid.

I went to a General Physician who said: that I had the Fourth Nerve infected. And after the examination; my nick and the bond under my chest; were hurting me to (I didn't know that before he examined me).

Alhumdulillah, the pain finaly stopped; after he cured me with intense Vitamin B12 needles, relaxing bills (1 bill per day for month) and with keep on using the Night Guide.

The stress was the real cause; but since I had no idea that it would affect my teeth this how; another problem happened and needed this kind of treatment.

But of course, that does not mean; everyone grind his teeth will have the Fourth Nerve infection. A Night Guide will take care of it, and you even wont have to use it your whole life, I stopped using main, but of course; when I have stress days, I try to use it; just in case.

A simple device in your mouth (it's not annoying and if you were while talking to others, no one can notice it); it is better than the pain, the huge pain you will face, may god keep it away form everyone.

You can avoid Teeth Grinding by controlling your stress, and if you can't; ask for help. Don't deny it, trust me; the pain will be really bad.

The exact cause for bruxism is not known but there is evidence to suggest that stress is the single most important factor likely to be the cause of this parafunction. There are studies which suggest elimination of the stress can lead to reduced bruxism.
