The majority of the youngsters I work with! The important thing is organise activities within their capabilities, don't set them up to "fail". Failure or an inability to participate will lead to a fall in confidence levels, a lowering of self esteem and engender a feeling of "isolation". Organise events between youngsters of equal ability so that "individually" they don't feel "inferior", this will also encourage healthly rivalry as they know that they can compete on a "level playing field". As in all things offer plenty of encouragement but ensure you do so in a non patronising way.Reinforcing the fact that physical activity is not only healthy it will help to improve their sense of "well being" and in some cases their "motor" skills is also advisable. Most importantly make these activities FUN.
