I cannot talk about fixed percentages here.

The important thing is to balance all roles and expectations from an effective manager

Furthermore,   let me elaborare on what an effective/successful manager is

The golden rule is embedded in the word M.A.N.A,G,E.R   itself where the following draws the general framework of the manage-employee relationship

  1. (M)otivator to the employee to keep them enthusuastic about their jobs ...
  2. (A) chiever;  being/showing what is meant by achievement through example.  Managers have exactly done what they are now breaching to their employees
  3. (N) egotiator ; with the employees to explore and agree on what really motivates them to do their best in their jobs, and negotiate employee benefits with higher management to compensate and reward good performance
  4. (A)ction Taker;  to ensure and assure the employees that promised are kept and respected in response to good performance results
  5. (G)oal setter: to set specic clear, doable and measurable goals in concurrence with the employees to be used later as the refetence to judge and evaluate the performance
  6. (E)nabler : to enable the employees and empower to do their jobs professionally and competently.  This includes such things as authorization, delegation, skill development, tools
  7. (R)isk Taker:  applying management power and good judgement to situations even if this means going outside the book to apply fairness and sound/wise decisions ,
Hope this helps you in better understanding the subject
